♥ My Baby Book

As my due date comes near, I can hardly get enough time preparing this- and- that  for my mini-me! Before I forgot, I just want to share something other first time preggy moms might find helpful. Since Day 1, I have been reading a lot on facts, and useful ideas regarding pregnancy and baby developments. Somehow it helps to read and read a lot of it!  I printed out my own pregnancy calendar, I ticked on it day by day as my pregnancy progress. Learned how the baby grows from a size of a poppy seed to a size of a small pumpkin, and to deal with the hormonal changes. I was fortunate as I didn't throw up, it was only my emotions that's unpredictable. I often got so sad without any clue on why I was sad. I was just pregnant indeed! To learn more about pregnancy just visit this site. Oh yes, we all love freebies, why not? Spare some time to browse online for all freebies offered by pharmacies or baby clothing shops. I got a free diaper bin, baby books, free diapers/ toiletries, baby clothes, and soft toys. Moreover, take photos of your growing belly. Nothing could express the milestone you've been through so don't  take pictures for granted!

BTW, I'm getting my baby book ready! ( I got this baby book for free as well!)

♥ Crochet again...

Hubby asked me to bring with us to the hospital these bootie and baby flappy hat that I had crocheted a few days ago. His personal pick for baby Jenny to wear. ;) I agree with him as I find it soooo sweet and cute! This is one-of-a-kind. I didn't follow a pattern, just simply my own design which I figured out as I crocheted them. I made use of those buttons I got from Ate Edwina.

Here's another one which I made right after I'm done with the bootie & hat. I used approx. a skein of yarn for this baby jumper. It's tiny and så søt!

...and another pair of booties! Sigh, I just can't get my hand off the hook! ;)

♥ Knitting with SingleStitches

Am still learning the basics of knitting. ;) Recently got variety of needles; straight needles, double-pointed needles and the round needles plus the book which is written in Norsk (I'm just looking at its illustrations though, and luckily I can follow :D),  that's all courtesy of HobbyKlubben!
And yes, here's a few on  my first try on knitting. Be my critic, tell me what you think about my knitted projects. ;)

♥ T-Shirt Yarn

I'll make use of these old shirts and turn it into something new... Some sort of upcycling.☺

Balls of yarn I had taken from the T-shirts. ( Cut them into strips and tugged it a bit and that's it! )

I am planning to make this into a bag or something I might come up with as I am doing these double crochet stitches. It's a bit hard to crochet these yarns I had here. I should have cut it thinner. Whew! Can't wait til it's done! ☺

♥ Black Cocoon Felted Pouch

Yay! At last I was able to take photos of my Black Cocoon Felted Pouch!!!... This is my first try on felting! ☺ Made this about a month or so. This was crocheted and then felted on the washing machine. Sorry, but I didn't take a "Before" picture of it. Here's the finished one which I used as pouch  for my crochet hooks & knitting needle. It measures approx. 8"x4"x5"( LxWxH) I used Norway's 100% pure new wool in black, 2 skeins yarn (50g).

Think about purple & pink color combi, nice and simply sweet in this fingerless gloves! Plus, big vintage buttons! Whoa! Perhaps Vicky would change her mind about having a black one.
Take a look, Vic! What do you think? I run out of black yarn on my stash for now...☺

Another try on fingerless gloves.

♥ Crocheted Baby Bootie & Baby Hat

Made this for my "mini me", another one in pink. ☺ With pompoms on each bootie's toe and hat's top. I used  Baby Soft 100% merino wool yarn in light pink and a small amount in white. These are cute and tiny.♥ Surely would fit a newborn.

Here's the stripe version of the baby hat in lavender & white. ♥

♥ Captured at last!

I am thrilled to see wild animals roaming around this winter. First, there's a hare that had run across the road while we were walking back home one night. I thought it was a rabbit, but hubby told me it's a hare. Ok, so I saw a wild hare not a rabbit. ☺ It looks like a rabbit though just a bit bigger. Its fur changes color with the seasons and is greyish brown in the summer and white in the winter. . The next one was that cute young deer, a bambi as what they call it here. Surely, it resembles Disney's "Bambi". It was taking its early morning walk down the hill nearby. So sweet it was taking every step so slow and gracefully. I can't help myself, but be amaze of what I am peeping through the window in our bedroom. Oh, I had to take picture of this bambi! Oops, it senses the noise when I opened the blind widely and there it's gone as quick as I could  realize it's wild and truly has a magnificent sense of sensitivity on everything other than danger. I really hope I will be able to see it again. Every time I took my daily walk around  in our backyard, I could tell by the tracks on the snow that it has been there during the night. I was surprised one night,Frida reckon me to come with her outside (they had just arrived). She was pointing on something in the fields, and saying "elg". Well, I didn't understand what she said until hubby told me they saw a moose on their way back. How exciting that those wild animals are just around here! Though there are large numbers of moose  found throughout Norway, seeing even just one is awesome! I promised myself to take a snapshot of it whenever I'm lucky. And yes, I was lucky one morning, I saw a moose on its way down the road. It was a calf, yet it was about 5 ft. high, no antlers. I guess it was a female. It runs real fast as hubby was also on his way down to the road. Unfortunately, no photos taken that time. I'm sure I'll get a chance soon...

Soon has come sooner... Here it is..
Captured its silent moment lying on that freezing  field of snow, stiff and lifeless. :(
I was so sad knowing I was been waiting for a chance just to snap a photo of this poor wild being, and it came out this way.
Life has no exception, I believe. It's just a matter of time.
This morning hubby saw another moose roaming around, I guess it was looking for its calf which is lying breathless down the slope. The wildlife authority will be coming today to check further for the cause.

♥ Frida

She is a sweetie, here she lost her first tooth. I was the one who played dentist that day. ☺ I can tell that she is anxious to loss her baby tooth and for the tooth fairy to come. She was glad I pulled it off as she has been trying hard herself. I wasn't brave as her as I can remember the first time I lost my tooth. I was too scared then and did cried so loud. I am proud of this little girl, she is tough! And yes, I did pulled her second tooth a couple of days ago and perhaps the third one, who knows. •••••▲
I made this crocheted slipper for her, and she loved it! Here is the link for the pattern:

I always enjoy her company eventhough we barely understand
each other. ☺♥☺  She loves to draw and make cards for her Pappa. ◄••••••

Here she is wearing the Crocheted Stripeey Beanie & Stripeey Wrist Warmer that I have given  to her.••••••►

Obviously, she loves to model my crocheted stuff. ☺
I made this Funky Weaved-in Crocheted Hat for her sister Thea. This is my very own pattern and I will try to write down the pattern sometime soon. ☺☺☺

♥ It's Heart's Day!

♥♥♥ Love is in the air, indeed it's Valentine's day !!! Everyone's been patiently awaiting for this special day to come. For some people it's just another ordinary day. For lovers and couples in love it's their most precious one.  ☺☺ Being in a relationship is an amazing experience for all of us. There are times when it seems the thought of being in love brought us heartaches more than joy and the loving feeling that we all expect. I believe it's up to ourselves. If you let yourself stucked on something not worthwhile, it's your choice! Today, I'm spending it with my first REAL Valentine. ♥♥♥

♥ Jiffy Lacey Baby Sundress

I couldn't find any pattern online for the baby dress I could make of using the broomstick lace so I came up with this one. This is how it's done...

♥ Soft 'n Cuddly Crocheted Baby Blanket

Here is the first baby blanket I have crocheted for my " mini me". This was done in slanted shell stitches. I used Dalegarn's 100% Baby Merino Ull in pink with a 2.5mm crochet hook.
It measures approx. 70" x 90". It is soft and cuddly as the stitches and the yarn combination are perfect. :)

♥ 30th

Pretty sure I am not the only one having this thoughts on their 30th birthday. Oh yes, another decade has passed, and more to look forward. I woke up this morning feeling grateful for what I have been become after all these years of my life. My past has driven me to this extent where I found my future and happiness. As far as I know, I am easily contented of whatever I have, those small things and gestures that had pleased me. I could not ask for more. I am not worried about getting old and wrinkled, but I am excited for it. Oftentimes, I am imagining how will I look like when I will be on my 50's and so on. Indeed, it will be a blessing to be able to reach that certain age. As for now, I will start a new decade to be persistent and flexible. I will pursue my passion and learn more ideas. No time to be wasted.
